Joshua Kissi’s work as a Ghanaian-American Filmmaker, Photographer and Creative Director celebrates the vibrancy of communities through a cultural and historical lens.

He is the co-founder of See in Black, a collective of 80 Black photographers with the mission of elevating Black visibility – as well as TONL, a company transforming stock photography to reflect the diverse people and narratives that are often overlooked in traditional media today.

Joshua personifies the ideal of a self-generator – he’s constantly creating and making. His client list matches his A-level status with brands such as Nike, Hennessy or Google to name a few. His short film, Business as Usual (which he wrote and directed), earned him a place on the One Show’s shortlist. This year 2022, he was shortlisted New Director of the Year by Shots and Best New Director by AICP.

Joshua Kissi just won a Cannes Lions Grand Prix for his contribution to the Super Bowl Google Real Tone Camera campaign, helping improve the technology to more accurately highlight the nuances of diverse skin tones, and particularly people of color.
