Jose Gonzales m’inspirera toujours.

Un de mes préférés : The Secret life of Walter Mitty !

Parmi mes préférées : True Detective, Monster, The Killing et Sons of Anarchy.

- Do you have a pre- or post-shooting ritual ?

I like bringing the team together, no matter how big. Even though most of the team often know each other, I believe a ‘name and function round’ is valuable. It makes everyone feel included and provides the client with an understand of the workings on a set.

Further, I always bring a ‘bitter’ on set for the team to end the day. Current favourites include Mümmelmann, Fernet Branca and Underberg. The latter introduced by my father at an early age.

- An artist who changed your life ?

Jose Gonzales continues to inspire me.

Coming to think about it, his music first came to me through film, in an epic commercial for Samsung. This was of course way before I was in the industry. There was something particularly heartfelt about his music and lyrics. A melancholy that I needed to indulge in as a teenager and still to this day.

His songs stuck with me for years and I went to see him live, but I somehow forgot over time. Then he reappeared a while back, again through film. This time in one of my favourite features, ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’.

- The decade you would’ve like to live in ?

Honestly, I’m quite happy with the decades I’ve lived. I think the 90’s are overrated, but I am thankful to have experienced a time before smartphones, a time with Championship Manager, the first edition of Grand Theft Auto and Tekken on Playstation 1.

- What do you do in order to relax ?

I love putting on a great show. Not an average show, a truly great one. Usually crime. One that can captivate me and keep me off the damn phone. Personal favourites include True Detective, Monster, The Killing and Sons of Anarchy. Other than that, I love to cook but I fail to find the time as much as I would like.

- What is on your bedside table ?

A Darth Vader clock from Lego and a Philippe Starck lamp.
